OLED
The OLED or On- living LED, as it’s now commonly known, is the latest generation of Television. OLED televisions are no longer simply another type of Television but the hottest technology in the TV market at the moment. If you’re a man or woman who’s passionate about sport or movies, then OLED is the Television technology that you should be looking for. But if you’re not a man or woman, then OLED is not your TV technology. For the most part, OLED is aimed at complementing and even replacing mainstream LCD TVs. This is not to say that it won’t replace LCD TVs; it’s more accurate to say that it’s not aimed to replace LCD TVs in their current form. And that’s a good thing. LCD is great. LCD is dependable. LCD is the television of choice for anyone that watches a lot of movies and sports. Why would you want to jump into an LCD-to-HDTV upgrade and watch movies on a screen with no sound?
HDTV has long been the broadcasting standard for the largest TV systems in the world. With the rise of HD broadcasting, the conventional NTSC/PAL/SECAM transmission of TV now costs less and more. This means more and more people can watch more and more TV.
The number of available channels is larger with the upfront cost of production. With OLED technology, the upfront cost of the broadcast will be much lower, resulting in more channels chosen by the same number of viewers.

OLED technology watches with a silver-tone and blue-black color. This creates a much more realistic image with lower contrast for a wider range of colors. Together these two technologies create the best image quality.

This means the user can watch a DVD player on a larger TV without decreasing the quality of the signal. The manufacturer is working hard on adding more channels to the Android TV so that it can fully encompass all the movies and other programs people want to watch. Any device that doesn’t support these apps will be a waste of money.
- Larger screen. – This is one benefit that is hard to ignore. With higher screen sizes being tiers now and being able to watch more channels outright, users are going to be able to watch a lot more shows. Roku says that the larger models will be able to handle 50 hours of video. This should be more than enough with the number of compatible apps available.
- ROM support. – ROM support is also something that is going to be important. Every Android TV that is sold should have the built-in ability to play ROMs. If it can play these games it should also be able to play the countless programs that come from outside the box.
Essentially the best option might just be to purchase a Plasma TV. These TVs are going to be easier to use and are capable of handling much more robust graphics cards than the LCD / LED TVs of today. Still, many people are going to opt for this cheaper TV technology and will consequently save money over the long haul. These TVs are comparatively more inexpensive and are in higher demand than LCD / LED TVs. So weigh your options and choose your TV as per your needs.
